Life changing work in cyber security is waiting for you
Malicious cyber activity is a threat to Australia’s people, businesses, and way of life. Our best line of defence is our people. But Australia has a critical workforce shortage in cyber security professionals.
That’s why we created the CyberCX Academy, an industry-leading program to recruit and train entry-level cyber security professionals into CyberCX.
The CyberCX Academy is a paid, permanent full-time employment opportunity designed to launch your career in cyber security. No prior experience is necessary. If you want to embark on a rewarding, meaningful career, then you’re in the right place.
The CyberCX Academy is a six-month program that provides you with a blend of formal training and practical on-the-job experience alongside a 1,400-strong workforce of cyber security professionals. Once you have graduated from the program, you will transition into the business and work alongside CyberCX professionals on client projects, helping to secure our communities.
The CyberCX Academy launched in July 2022 and has already trained more than 280 Academy Associates who work in our offices across the Australian cities of Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Perth, and in the New Zealand cities of Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington.
Whether you’re just finishing studies or looking for a mid-career transition, apply today to learn, grow, and excel in a supportive environment. You could be part of the change the industry, and our country, needs.

Day in the life: Practice profiles
CyberCX Academy Associates come from diverse backgrounds that reflect the communities CyberCX serves. Many of our best Academy Associates are people who have started a career elsewhere and made a switch to cyber security, bringing experience from nursing, hospitality, project management, retail, teaching and other professions.

Strategy and Consulting
Ailie Houlihan | Consulting pathway
As an Associate Consultant in Strategy and Consulting, I work in a team that provides strategic and advisory services to private and government clients. A typical day could include conducting cyber security reviews, drafting cyber security strategies, or developing materials that keep a project running. I help with client workshops that enable us to understand the current state of client security operations and draft recommendations to uplift and improve their security readiness.
Managed Security Services
Brennan Harvey | Technical pathway
As an Associate Consultant in Managed Security Services (MSS), I work to protect our customers’ digital assets. In MSS we are broken down into two parts – an operations function that monitors our customer environments 24/7 in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), and an engineering function that designs, builds, operates and maintains security infrastructure for customers. As a SOC analyst I monitor, triage, and respond to cyber security incidents for our customers.
Who are we looking for?
This ground-breaking cohort is open to women and gender diverse applicants based in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart and Brisbane. The cohort will commence in November 2024.
