CyberCX Unmasks China-linked AI Disinformation Capability on X → 

CyberCX announced as Official Partner SXSW Sydney 2024

CyberCX, Australia’s leading cyber security and cloud services organisation, is an official partner of SXSW Sydney 2024, a dynamic conference and festival showcasing the latest in tech, music, screen and games across Asia-Pacific.

The partnership will see CyberCX present the inaugural ‘Cyber & Your Data’ conference track, leading an expert panel, and hosting a two-day ‘CyberCX Lounge’, featuring an exciting mix of panels, talks and a live podcast.

CyberCX will assist SXSW Sydney to strengthen its digital defences, providing best in breed cyber security services for the largest event of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region.

Facilitated by Network Ten National Affairs Editor, Hugh Riminton, CyberCX panel Know Your Enemy: Unmasking the Hackers, will feature cyber intel experts from CyberCX, Commonwealth Bank and Telstra, to discuss the latest cyber intelligence insights – who the hackers are, what motivates them, and what we can all do to protect ourselves.

Cyber intelligence experts and ‘hunters’ from season three of Network Ten’s Hunted Australia, will also feature on the Discovery stage, uncovering the dark arts of ethical hacking and digital forensics, with a live demonstration of how they gain valuable insights from your digital footprint.

The CyberCX Lounge will host a further series of sessions as part of the official SXSW Sydney program, across Monday 14 October and Tuesday 15 October, including:

  • Friend or Foe: whose side is AI on in the digital scam wars – hosted by Australian Payments Plus, this panel will explore how AI both fortifies defences against fraud and is harnessed for highly sophisticated scams.
  • The Cyber Opportunity: innovation and entrepreneurship in securing our communities – a panel of experts across the start-up, scale-up and cyber ecosystem – including Tech Council CEO Damian Kassabgi – come together to discuss what it takes to succeed and create positive impact in a challenging threat landscape.
  • Panic to Poise: are cyber security breaches inevitable?– CyberCX experts will dissect the critical decisions that need to be made during a cyber incident; explore the vital role of crisis communications; and discuss key cyber security controls that can help organisations prepare and respond effectively.
  • Girls Talk Cyber live podcast with eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant – hosts Jules and Em will delve deep into the Commissioner’s extensive experience, achievements and seek out her favourite tips and tricks for improving online safety.

SXSW Sydney is being held for the second time only outside of its hometown in Austin, Texas. The conference boasts an array of networking and professional development opportunities, in addition to music, screen and games events, as well as a tech and innovation expo.

SXSW Sydney will take place at the ICC, Sydney, from 14-20 October 2024.
